Shirley Eugene Cowger Schoonover, 74, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Belington.
Shirley was born Tuesday, March 22, 1949, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Grover Cowger and Georgia McCauley Cowger.
Left to cherish her memory are two children, Shonn Schoonover and Angela "Shiral" Hartley; four grandchildren, Kaleb Schoonover, Alina Smith, Dustin and Kenna Louk; and one brother, Carmel Cowger and wife, Karen.
Shirley was a graduate of Beverly High School and had been employed as a front desk clerk at the Seneca Motel. She enjoyed watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. A daily ritual that was dear to her heart and was "their thing," was going out for morning coffee and breakfast with her son, Shonn. Shirley enjoyed going to church. She was Pentecostal by faith and attended the Elkins Family Worship Center.
A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, from 11 a,m, until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
