Edna Mae Munday, 93, a resident of Tacy Community, Philippi, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, in the Stonerise Nursing Facility in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Edna Mae was born July 19, 1930 in Philippi, a daughter of the late Ira and Vesta (Hershman) McBee.
Enda Mae worked for the First National Bank in Philippi for more than 20 years. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was the long-time treasurer of the Crossroads Cemetery Association. She was a member of the Oder of the Eastern Star, Philippi Chapter 41, Daughters of the American Revolution and Tacy CEOS.
She served as a princess in the 1953 Mountain State Forrest Festival.
Mrs. Mundy is survived by her husband, William Lowell Mundy; daughter, Lisa Sharp and husband, Dave; stepson, William Lowell Mundy Jr. and wife, Patsy; sister, Sandra Sue McBee; grandchildren, Reagan and Rylan Sharp, Jamie Smith and husband, Dustin, and Joey Mundy; great-grandchildren, Harly, William and James; and several nieces and nephews.
Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard McBee, James McBee and Lucille Ball.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Friday, Oct. 20, from 4-8 p.m. The OES Chapter 41 will conduct service rites at 7 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Steel and Rev. Tami Shoup officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tacy Crossroads Cemetery.
