James Cecil "Jimmy" McCauley, 61, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at his home. He had been in declining health, however death was sudden and unexpected.
Jimmy was born Friday, March 31, 1961, in Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Neal Hampton "Peanut" McCauley and Vernie Gertrude Leary McCauley. He had been married three times. First, he was married to Karen Tenney. Second, he was married to June McCauley, who preceded him in death, and at the time of his passing, he was married to Susan Ann Rhodes McCauleym with whom he had celebrated 20 years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Jimmy's memory are two children, Peggy Casey and husband, Tyson, of Belington, and James Neal McCauley and wife, Shelby, of Elkins; two stepchildren, Angel Marie McCauley and Dusty Neal McCauley; one sister, Ora Cade and husband, Bill, of Belington; a sister in law, Carol McCauley of Dubois, Pennsylvania; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Preceding Jimmy in death besides his parents were twin infant sons, Ernest Franklin McCauley and James Cecil McCauley; and a brother, George McCauley.
Jimmy enjoyed playing music, watching movies, card games and fishing. He also enjoyed going to carnivals and had even traveled with the carnival for a few years. He loved animals and even collected figurines of his favorites, elephants, rabbits and geese. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., the funeral hour.
Jimmy's request for cremation will then be honored.
