Judy Lane Jones Hamrick, 80, a resident of Monterville, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Davis Medical Center.
Judy was born on Monday, Sept. 13, 1943, in Valley Head, a daughter of the late Paul Morgan Jones and Letha Mae Simmons Jones Roberts.
On July 23, 1960, in Webster Springs, she was married to Glen Ernest Hamrick, who survives. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Judy's memory are two daughters, Pattie Salisbury and husband, Frank, and Penny Arbogast and husband, Estil, all of Monterville; three grandchildren, Sarah Salisbury, Shasta Hamrick and Christopher Arbogast; three great-grandchildren that Judy raised, Mackenzie Hamrick, Karleigh Hamrick and Serena Arbogast; seven great-grandchildren, Destiny See, Mason Arbogast, Xavier McCune, Braxton McCune, Zayden McCune, Raylan Lanham and Payson Lanham; two sisters, Frances Bender of Elkwater and Irene Hannah of Slatyfork; a special niece, Rainy Bogdan of Monterville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Judy in death besides her parents were three brothers, James Jones, Bucky Jones and Roger Jones; a half-brother, Leslie Roberts; and two grandchildren, Tommy Salisbury and Brandy Arbogast.
Judy attended the schools of Randolph County. She had worked at Bata Shoe Company and as a housekeeper at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, raising her flowers, watching the birds, listening to gospel music and she loved her family and taking care of them.
She attended Markley Chapel and was a Methodist by faith.
A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at 1 p.m. Pastor Billy Young and Rev. Marshall Williams will officiate, and interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery at Valley Head.
