Marian Jean Baldwin Reger

REGER

Mrs. Marian Jean Baldwin Reger, 86, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Wednesday morning, Oct. 11, 2023, at the Mountain Living Community Assisted Living Facility in Belington. Death was followed by a period of declining health.

She was born on August 12, 1937, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lloyd Atwood and Dorothy Mae Archibald Baldwin.

On Oct. 24, 1969, in Morgantown, she was united in marriage to Robert B. "Bob" Reger, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Robert S. Reger of Belington, Bradley J. Reger and wife, Melissa, of Elkins and William A. Reger and wife, Tammy, of Buckhannon; and one daughter, Lori A. DeBastiani of Belington.

Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a whole host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert T. Reger; two daughters, Allison Y. Whitaker and Wendy Jo Reger Spahr; and one sister, Marjorie Leavy.

Marian was a high school graduate from Girard High School in Girard, Ohio, and also attended Youngstown State College, in Youngstown, Ohio. In her younger years she was employed at Ohio Rubber Corporation in Girard, Ohio and Glen Cartage Corporation Steel Hauling Firm of Girard, Ohio, and Sew-in of Morgantown. She was lastly employed as a secretary in the Pulmonary Division of West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, from which she retired. Marian was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was very active in the United Methodist Women serving as vice-president. Her hobbies included knitting and sewing and belonged to the lady's prayer shawl group with the Belington First Baptist Church. She loved to travel with her husband Bob and loved her family and friends very much. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday Oct. 14, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m., the funeral hour when final rites, will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Dr. Harlan Amandus officiating.

Per Marian's request cremation will follow.

The interment of her cremains will be in the Fraternal Cemetery at a later date.
