Mrs. Delores Gene "Dee/Granny" Shaffer Peaslee, 87, of Indian Trail, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Novant Health/Rowan Medical Center of Salisbury, North Carolina.
She was born March 19, 1936, in Rowlesburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harland Wayne Shaffer and the late Laura Marie Weaver Shaffer.
Mrs. Peaslee was a member of Stallings United Methodist Church. She was the owner/ operator of Dee's Unexpected Treasures in Elkins, West Virginia, until her retirement. Dee was a very energetic Granny. She loved to bake and provide "Goodie Trays" for family and friends. She loved to watch Viginia Tech "Hokies" football. But what she loved more than anything was family.
She had three grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren that gave her incredible joy!
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Neil Peaslee; and her daughter, Kimberly Jo Bellinghausen.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Brent Peaslee (Melanie) of Pulaski, Virginia; son-in-law, Ron Bellinghausen of Salisbury, North Carolina; grandson, Bobby Peaslee (Callie); and great grand-children, Avery and Bayes of Salem, Virginia, and Zach Peaslee (Heather); and great-granddaughters, Karoline and Addie of Draper, Virginia, Brent Thomas (Cayce) of Locust, NC; and long time friend, Dan Thomas of Monroe, North Carolina.
A Committal Service will be held on Dec. 9, 2023, at 9 a.m. from the chapel of the Mountain State Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elkins United Methodist Church, Old Rte 219, Elkins, WV 26241.
