Edward G. "Eddie" Riemenschneider Jr., 58, a resident of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, passed away early Saturday morning Nov. 11, 2023, after suffering a medical emergency.
He was born June 12, 1965, in Cumberland, Maryland, the son of Frances "Frankie" Halterman Riemenschneider of Elkins and the late Edward G. Riemenschneider.
On April 8, 1995, at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, he was married to Rhonda Anderson, who he cherished.
Also surviving is his daughter, Olivia R. Riemenschneider of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; sister, Gretchen Riemenschneider Price and husband, Jerry, of Elkins; two nieces, Sarah Shirk of Kent, Ohio, and Amy Shirk of Jupiter, Florida; and great-nephew, Amari.
Eddie was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1983. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Master's Degree in Marketing. He retired November of 2020 after 30 years of employment with the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia.
Upon retiring to North Carolina, Eddie's interest in fishing flourished. He restored his father's Boston Whaler boat and loved taking it out on the Intracoastal Waterway. He loved fishing with his wife, Rhonda, and best friend, Tom Antolini, and he also loved to cook. He was a member of the Sea Trail Fishing Club and "Food, Friends, and Wine", a neighborhood dinner club which he had planned on being in charge of next year.
When he would return to Elkins to hunt at the Thompson/Armentrout farm, he was the designated "camp cook".
Eddie loved being around people and would always put a smile on everyone's face. He cared deeply for everyone he knew and would do anything to help them.
Eddie's request for cremation has been honored.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Elkins at a later date.
