Kenneth Eugene Lambert, also known as Ken, passed away on Nov 5, 2023, at the age of 59 in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

He was born on April 15, 1964, in Elkins, West Virginia.

Partners in life for 41 years and legally married on April 19, 2014, in Tahoe City, California, Ken is survived by his beloved husband, James D. (Jim) Gordon; and their cats, Patrick and Lukas.

He is also survived by his father, Ronald H. Lambert of Wymer, West Virginia; and three brothers, James (Mike) Lambert and wife, Linda, of Elkins, Richard (Ricky) Lambert and Terry Lambert; two sisters, Virginia (Ginger) Thompson and husband, Kenny, and Rebecca (Becky) Smigal and husband, David, of Davis, West Virginia.

Ken was proceeded in death by his mother, Carolyn J. Nelson Lambert; his loving grandmother, Lona Marie “Gram” Lambert; and his grandfather, Vernard “Pap” Lambert.

Ken attended Harman High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He was passionate about his work and dedicated his life to helping others in the healthcare field. His professional life began in Elkins, West Virginia, at Memorial General Hospital and later Davis Memorial Hospital, where he gained the foundational knowledge necessary to pursue a highly successful career in healthcare administration with a focus on clinical documentation. A natural teacher, Ken dedicated himself to training and mentoring clinicians and other coding professionals, helping more than 500 individuals in achieving their medical coding certification while empowering them to educate others. Ken’s most recent position was as Senior Director, Provider Documentation Education-Hospital Medicine at Envision Healthcare.

In accordance with Ken’s wishes, he was cremated and there will be no services held.

Ken’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
