Mrs. Martha Ellen Biller Harris, 76, a resident of Belington, departed this life early Sunday morning, Nov. 5, 2023 in the Select Specialty Care Hospital of Morgantown. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1947, at Barbour County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ira Camden Biller Sr. and Odie Virginia Right Biller.
She was united in marriage to Sanford Wellington Harris, who preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by three sons, Lester Cale of Century, David Cale and wife, Crystal, of Philippi, and Gary Cale of Belington; one daughter, Odie Haddix of Philippi; one brother, Howard Biller of Mabie; and one sister, Oetta England of Belington.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ira Camden Biller Jr., Marvin Lee Biller, Robert Orville Biller, David Edward Biller and Jesse Owen Biller; and four sisters, Betty Louise Long, Juanita Virginia Westfall, Vivian Leigh Everson and Mary Katherine Ross.
Martha attended the schools of Barbour County, was a homemaker and was a Christian by faith. She loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In her earlier years she enjoyed going out dancing with her friends. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ruston Seaman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery near Belington.
