Mr. Matthew Thomas Kelly, 35, a resident of Montrose, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at his home. Death was unexpected.
He was born June 18, 1988, at Baltimore, Maryland, a son of Thomas E. Kelly Jr. of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, and the late Jennie Michele Smith Haller.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his step-father, James Erwin Haller of Belington; a step-mother, Nancy Jolle of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; and a companion, Destiny Bolton of Montrose.
Additional survivors include his grandparents, Thomas E. Kelly Sr. of Delaware, Nancy Schriver of Pennsylvania and John and Nancy Kernan of Maryland.
He is also survived by one brother, Michael David Ambrose of Weston; three sisters, Jennifer Elizabeth Frazzini and husband, Shawn, of Massachusetts, Amber Brook Kelly of Pennsylvania and Farrah Eden Jolle of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by one brother, William Lee "Will" Smith.
Matthew attended the schools of Maryland and Barbour County.
He was formerly employed with Allegheny Wood Products and MEC Construction Company.
Matthew loved riding dirt bikes, he loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family. Matthew had a great love for dogs, building things with his hands and doing mechanic work with his step-dad Erwin. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, from noon to 2 p.m., when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Denzil Arbogast officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Moatsville.
