Robert Allen Ware

Mr. Robert Allen Ware, 71, a resident of Belington, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 31, 2023, in the Mountain Living Community Assisted Living Facility at Belington. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born May 26, 1952, in Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Chester Edward and Verna Jean Cook Ware.

In August of 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Rosemary Elaine Pomp, who preceded him in death April 26, 2023.

He is survived by one son, William A. “Bill” Ware and wife, Lori, of Bruceton Mills; and one daughter, Amanda Ware of Belington.

He is also survived by three sisters, Cora Mae Pharis of Belington, Judy Pharis and husband, Jack, of Belington, and Mary Ware of Elkins; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Joe Ware; and one sister, Nancy Pharis.

Bob attended the schools of Barbour County, he was a proud veteran serving in the United States Navy, serving on the air craft carrier U.S.S. Kitty Hawk in the Midway Island. Bob was formerly employed with West Virginia Department of Transportation and then was employed with the West Virginia Department of Highways of Barbour County, from which he retired; serving in the position as supervisor after 23 years of employment. Upon his retirement from the Department of Highways, he then worked for Barbour County Pipeline. Bob was a hard worker, always providing for his family that he dearly loved. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private family visitation will be held at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, from noon to 3 p.m., the funeral hour, when private family funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lee Williams officiating.

Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery, where full Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 96 of Belington and the United States Navy.
