Della "Dee" DiAnne Howell Phillips, 53, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life early Sunday morning, Dec. 24, 2023, at her home.
She was born Thursday, Nov. 19, 1970, at Elkins, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Earnest Ray Howell.
On Nov. 21, 2009, at Norton, West Virginia, she was married to Gary Neil Phillips, who survives.
Also surviving are a special friend, Nancy Patrick.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Daniel William Howell; her beloved uncle and aunt, Benny and Jean Jones; and special aunt, Eyvonne Howell.
Dee was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1989 and attended Davis & Elkins College. She had worked as a Childcare Specialist II for Appalachian Community Health Center at Elkins. She was a member of the Kynette United Methodist Church, the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, a former member of the Elkins Ladies of the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary, had been a Hospital Volunteer and volunteered many years with the Mountain State Forest Festival. She enjoyed crafts and staying busy, had a love for animals, children and Mickey Mouse.
One of her favorite pastimes was going to the beach at Ocean Isle.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kynette United Methodist Church at Norton, West Virginia, at a later date.
