Vernon Lee Sturgill, 86, of Cass, passed away on Dec. 6, 2023, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.
Born May 27, 1937, in Cass, and was a son of the late Lester and Ruth Neighbors Sturgill.
He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Sturgill of 62 years; daughter, Elizabeth Snyder; son, Kevin Sturgill; and several brothers and sisters.
Vernon was an Air Force Veteran and an operational supervisor for Chevron Asphalt. Vernon liked the outdoors and enjoyed hunting.
Vernon is survived by his children, Vernon Sturgill Jr. and wife, Susan, of Hawaii, Brian Gurnsey of Navada, Jeanne Ortiz and husband, Abe, of Maryland, Larry Sturgill and wife, Jill, of Maryland, and Dreama Sturgill of Arbovale; many grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated with no services.
