Betty J. White

Betty J. White, 85, a resident of the Lambert Road, Bowden, West Virginia, passed away at 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, in the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center in Elkins.

She was born Aug. 8, 1938, at Middle Mountain, Randolph County, a daughter of the late Earnest Woodrow Lambert and the late Tenia Friel Lambert.

She was married to Richard Lee White, who preceded her in death July 1, 2009.

Surviving is one son, Carlton White of Middle Mountain; and three brothers, David Lambert and Charles Lambert of Middle Mountain, and Joe Lambert of Bowden. Five grandchildren Ben and Zach White, Destinee Isenhart, Emilee Riffle, Carlee White; and three great grandchildren, Phoenix and Payton White and Parker Isenhart also survive.

Also preceding her in death was one sister, Norma Fortney.

Betty was a seamstress having worked for several years in Winchester, Virginia. She loved cooking and crocheting and formerly attended the Lambert Mennonite Church.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, January 3, 2024. at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Todd Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Cemetery at Middle Mountain.
