Deloris Elaine ‘Dodie’ Burns Wilson

WILSON

Deloris Elaine "Dodie" Burns Wilson, 76, a resident of Norton, passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

Dodie was born Monday, March 3, 1947, on Files Creek Road in Beverly, a daughter of the late Audrey Noah Burns and Unavale Joy Sampson.

On Sept. 4, 1970, in the Calvary United Methodist Church in Junior, she married Roger Lee Wilson Sr., who preceded her in death on July 18, 2010.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Lisa Elaine Wilson Feaster and husband, Skip, of Elkins, and Roger Lee Wilson Jr. of Norton; four grandchildren, Jesse, Damian, Brianna and Kasey; five siblings, Audrey "Gabby" Burns Jr. and wife, Becky, of Valley Bend, Carol Smith and husband, Bill, of Norton, Donnie Burns and wife, Cindy, of Warren, Ohio, Charles "Wayne" Burns and companion, Linda Robinson, of Elkins, and Randy Burns and wife, Maria, of Curtice, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was one infant sister, Diana Lynn Burns.

Dodie was a 1965 graduate of Coalton High School. While in high school, Dodie volunteered at Memorial General Hospital; she was the third candy striper selected when the program first started. She was employed at Reidbord Brothers and had then been employed as the manager of The Video Shoppe and managed locations in Elkins, Mill Creek and Parsons. Dodie enjoyed crocheting, bird watching as they came to the feeders, and she had an incredible green thumb for house plants. She was an excellent cook. Her brothers used to tell her that if they would buy the restaurant and if she cooked, they'd make tons of money. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and how she loved to spend time with her family.

Dodie's request for cremation will be honored.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Deloris Elaine Burns Wilson.
