Hellen L. Stutler, 95, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at the WV Caring Inpatient Unit.
She was born April 24, 1928, at West Union, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Claude Gaskins and Sarah Reed Gaskins.
On Dec. 13, 1952, at West Union, West Virginia, she was married to James E. Stutler, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2005.
She is survived by four sons, Steven Stutler of Charleston Heights, West Virginia, Richard, Jeffrey and Clifford Stutler, all of Elkins; and five grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, were 12 brothers and sisters; one son, Charles Stutler; and one daughter, Ruth Ann Sitavich.
Hellen was a homemaker and a member of the Log Cabin Quilters' Guild and taught hand quilting and quilted for the Randolph County Senior Center. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Elkins for more than 60 years, where she directed the choir for decades.
Hellen's life priorities were God, Jesus and her family.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Cindy Morgan-Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Jeffrey Stutler to assist with funeral expenses.
