Mrs. Janet Lynn (Weese) Chenoweth, 76, a resident of Belington, departed this life Saturday evening, Jan. 20, 2024, at her residence. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born Oct. 26, 1947, at Philippi, a daughter of the late Homer Harold and Lillian Margaret (Shockey) Weese.
On Feb. 13, 1966, she was united in marriage to the late James Edmond Chenoweth, who preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2002.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kris Wiseman and husband, Steve, of Belington and Michelle Harris, also of Belington; one brother, Van H. Weese and wife, Carolyn, of Belington; and one sister, Jill A. Price and husband, Tom, of Belington; three grandchildren, Zachary Haddix, Riley Haddix and Macara Harris and two great-grandchildren, Madilynn and Lillyann Haddix. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Dedria Kay "Dee Dee" Weese.
Janet attended the schools of Barbour County and was a graduate of the Philip Barbour High School in the class of 1965. She was a protestant by faith and worked as a homemaker.
She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the funeral hour at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
