Mrs. Kathryn Marie (Corbin) McLean, 74, a resident of Belington, departed this life Sunday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2023, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. Although she was in declining health, death was unexpected.
Kathryn was born Dec. 30, 1949, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Harry Junior and Wanda Marie (Ringer) Corbin.
On Dec. 14, 1968, she was united in marriage to Clarence Junior McLean, who survives at their residence in Belington.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Chad Junior McLean of Belington, and Chet Jay McLean and wife, Betty, also of Belington; and one sister, Robyn Allen of Richmond, Virginia. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Corbin; and one sister, Anita Lynn Corley.
Kathryn attended the Schools of Randolph County and was a graduate of Elkins High School in the class of 1968. She was a former member of the Eastern Star Chapter 68 of Belington and attended the Westside United Methodist Church, where she was a member for many years.
She was a homemaker and loved to take care of her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Lee Williams officiating. Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Westside United Methodist Church care of Lee Williams 134 South Beverly Pike, Belington, WV 26250.
