Lima Jean (Johnston) Stalnaker, 90, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at University Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio.
Born in Hunting Ground, West Virginia, on June 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William Guy and Shirley Arlene (Sponaugle) Johnston.
On August 14, 1950, she married Commodore Perry Stalnaker Jr., who preceded her in death in 2013.
A resident of the Hiram area since 1975, Mrs. Stalnaker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of the Hiram Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served her church in several ways including conducting tours through The Historic John Johnson Home in Hiram Ohio along with speaking and teaching classes in her church. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and the more the merrier. Her passing was peaceful with over a dozen family members by her side.
She is survived by her children Diana (Roger) Storm, Steven (Colleen) Stalnaker, David (Maria) Stalnaker, Joseph (Mitzi) Stalnaker and Mary (Joe Brown) Stalnaker; 21 grandchildren; 51 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Mary Olsen whose husband Noel is deceased, Martha Stewart, whose husband Jim is deceased, and Diana (Steve) Jackson; her aunt, Halene Ogden, whose husband Strat is deceased; and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and long-time friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shirley (Blaine) Robertson; granddaughter, Stephanie (Robertson) Banks; and brothers, Thomas Johnston and William Johnston and his wife, Beverly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6049 Pioneer Trail, Hiram, Ohio 44234, with Bishop Sears officiating.
Visitation at the church will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time of 11 a.m.
Additional visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 211 East 200 South, Springville, UT 84663 immediately followed by a graveside funeral service at Springville Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Green Funeral Care in Mantua, Ohio.
