Martha Kathleen Swecker Rufenacht

RUFENACHT

Martha Kathleen Swecker Rufenacht, 87, of Bel Air, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Jan. 5, 2024, at Forest Hill Heights in Forest Hill, Maryland.

Born in Valley Head, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Carvil and Elva (Simmons) Swecker and the devoted wife of the late George Rufenacht.

Martha was a cherished member of Mountain Christian Church, where her passion for music shone brightly.

She was actively involved in the church choirs and dedicated over 30 years of her life as a member of His Harvesters Gospel Quartet. Martha's love for music extended beyond the church, as she served as a music teacher at Hickory Elementary and Bel Air High School until 1972.

Following her teaching career, she continued to share her musical talents by offering private lessons.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Tom (Jami) Rufenacht and Robert (Wendy) Rufenacht; as well as her six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Mountain Christian Church at 1824 Mountain Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
