ZaQuan Christopher George

ZaQuan Christopher George, 21, of Morgantown, tragically departed this earth on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, alongside the love of his life, Maggie Erdie.

He was born in Fairmont on Jan. 3, 2003, to Christopher George and Lynette Waites George.

ZaQuan was currently employed with Jimmy Johns Restaurant in Morgantown. He was a 2021 graduate of West Fairmont Senior High School. During his high school years he was a member of the track team as well as the cross-country team which he loved. He enjoyed playing basketball, video games, eating, traveling with family, spending time with friends and also his alone time.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Marcus Smith; great- grandmother, Bernice Bridges; uncles, George Grant, John Robinson, Harold "Jack" George, Richard "Mack" George Donald George; and aunt, Mary "Sis" Wiseman.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his step-mother, Twnna George; maternal grandmother, Annie Waites Rollins; paternal grandparents, Rick and Beverly George; and two sisters, Zoe Barnett of Clarksburg and Hydia George of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; four brothers, Logan Barnett of Anchorage, Alaska, Marcus Maines of Fort Stewart, Georgia, Coron Maines and Sampson Maines, both of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by one nephew, Koa Sparks of Clarksburg; two aunts and seven uncles, Kimberly Taylor of Moreno Valley, California, and Lydia Bailey of Fairmont, Gregory Waites, Melvin Waites and Samuel Echols, all of Fairmont, Darnell Rollins and Alex Rollins, both of Morgantown, Akiba Dillard of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Jason (Erica) Miller of Conway, South Carolina.

He was also survived by his godparents, Linda and James Weeks of Fairmont; and a cousin who was like a brother to him, Rahzell Muniz; and a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at the Covenant Church, 17 Everlasting Drive, Fairmont.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., from the church, with Pastor Leo Riley officiating and Minister Melvin Waites Eulogist.
