Delvera ‘Vera’ M. Cutright

Delvera "Vera" M. Cutright, 89, of Warren, Ohio, died on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at Gillette Nursing Home.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1934, in Valley Head, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ernest Bruce Hamrick and the late Juanita Simmons Hamrick Lantz.

In 1954, she married Archie B. Cutright, her husband of 64 years, who preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2018.

Vera graduated from Tygart Valley High School in Mill Creek, West Virginia, and was employed at Packard Electric in Warren. She was a waitress at the Perkins Restaurant.

She enjoyed bowling with the Wednesday Afternoon Housewives Bowling League and being an election poll worker. She loved her little dogs, country music, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her home was always open for family and friends. Throughout life, she and Archie were wonderful hosts offering good food, stories, and laughter to everyone. She will be missed.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra L. (George) Marble of Cortland, Ohio, Vickie L. (Mike) Friihauf of Ridgeway, South Carolina, and Valerie (Ed) Fisher of Lexington, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Adina (Nate) Wilson, Alyssa (Mike) Campy, Jobie Marble, Meridith (Vince) Gula, Adam Lewis, Lindsey Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Travis Acevedo and Elliot (Catherine) Acevedo, along with 10 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip N. (Margaret) Lantz of Elkins, West Virginia, Jennings (Karen) Lantz of Champion, Ohio; and a sister, Carla (Melvin) Kiess of Beverly, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Clarence Lantz; a brother, Audis Hamrick; four sisters, Gatha Wamsley, Lynn Graziani, Letha Weese and Jean Blandford; a stepbrother; four stepsisters; brother-in-law, Benny; sister-in-law, Alfreda; and great-granddaughter, Kalaini Lynn Carnes.

Per her wishes, no calling hours will be held. A private graveside service will be held at the Little Arlington Cemetery in Elkins, West Virginia, at a later date.

The family requests that any material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1981, Cleveland, OH 44106, in her memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
