Mrs. Nancy Louise (Strawder) Fenstermacher, 82, a resident of Belington and more recently of Nella's at Autumn Lake Healthcare Facility at Elkins, departed this life Thursday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2024, in Davis Medical Center at Elkins. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected.
She was born May 7, 1941 at Glady, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Cecil and Mabel B. (Smith) Strawder.
On Dec. 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Thomas Benjamin Fenstermacher, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2000.
Left to cherish her memory are seven children, Fay Sandridge and husband, Rick, of Belington, Thomas Dale Fenstermacher and wife, Francis, of Junior, David Fenstermacher and wife, Debbie, of Philippi, Richard Kenneth Fenstermacher of Junior, Robert Allen Fenstermacher of Junior, Flora Ellen Harris and husband, Rick, of Ohio, and William Buster Fenstermacher and wife, Adrianna, of Belington; and one brother, Jack Strawder of Kentucky.
Additional survivors include 18 grandchildren, Ricky Sandridge Jr, Maranda Storey, David Fenstermacher Jr, Charles Fenstermacher, Travis Yoast, Shannon Fenstermacher, Ariel Streets, Chelsea Wolfe, Shyann Fenstermacher, Richard Fenstermacher Jr, Keana Fenstermacher, Kayley Fenstermacher, Kyra Fenstermacher, Damian Fenstermacher, Bryson Fenstermacher, Brent Harris, Maria Kay Pepper and Kayla Pepper.
Several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four siblings, Cecil Strawder, Russell Strawder, Wilda Jean Strawder and Janis Strawder.
Nancy attended the schools of Randolph County. Before her health began to decline, she attended the Weaver Church of the Nazarene. She loved to work jigsaw puzzles and cross word puzzles; she enjoyed making beaded dolls and was faithful to donate to St. Jude Hospital. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home at 56 N Brandenburg Street in Belington on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, from noon to 7 p.m., the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating.
Following the service, cremation will be honored and internment of Nancy's cremains will be held at a later date in the Hillyard Cemetery near Junior.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Hillyard Cemetery c/o Linda Skidmore P.O. Box 352 Junior, WV 26275.
