Mr. Paul Adrin Haddix, 82, a resident of the Midway Road in Belington, departed this life early Thursday morning, Feb. 8, 2024, in the Mon General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Death was following a period of declining health.
Paul was born July 28, 1941, at Barbour County, a son of the late Norma Haddix.
In 1967, Paul was united in marriage to Rosalie Sue (Noell) Haddix, who survives at their home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three half-brothers, Larry Humphreys and Roger Humphreys, both of Philippi, West Virginia, and Russell Dale Humphreys of Hubbard, Ohio.
Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as his wonderful care-givers of many years, Debbie "Tootie" Kennedy and Shirley Collins.
He was preceded in death by Robert and Myrtle Upton, who raised him and a half-brother Robert Humphreys.
Paul was a U.S. Army veteran. After basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky, he finished his enlistment in Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Paul became an equipment operator for Arch Coal Company from which he retired. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Faith Way Baptist Church near Belington. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt deer in the fall of the year and every spring he would go turkey hunting and fishing for trout. Paul loved his two dogs Biscuit and Bullet, and his two cats Calico and Tommy. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 96 of Belington and the Tyhannon Hunting Club.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at the Faith Way Baptist Church near Belington from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the church with the Pastor David Canny officiating.
Interment will then follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery near Belington, where full military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 96 of Belington and the United States Army.
