Sherry Lea Cooper, 62, of Harman, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, under the care of WV Caring Hospice.
Born on Feb. 20, 1961, in Harman, she was the daughter of the late Arthur "Merk" and Velma E. (Wymer) Cooper.
Sherry was a graduate of Harman High School. She worked for many years at Timberline Ski Resort and cleaning houses. She loved attending basketball games and cheering her kids on. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and she loved decorating. She enjoyed the beach and playing games on her phone. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and, even though she had no children, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Denver Vance; four sisters, Beverly Eye and husband, Robert, Norma Cooper and husband, Harold Thompson, Jennifer Dodd and husband, J.D., and Rhonda Cooper and companion, Herman Armentrout, all of Harman; one special sister, Charlotte Vance and husband, Tom, of Georgia; two nieces, Tisha Mallow and husband, Robbie, of Harman, and Leslie Bonner and husband, Jeff, of Dryfork; one nephew, Zeb Dodd of Harman; six great-nephews, Sevren Heavner, Cade Mallow and companion, Alexia Fredell, Trevan Bonner, Braylon Heavner, Ty Bonner and Zayden Dodd; and three great nieces, Jessie Heavner, Adalea Bonner and Mary Jane Dodd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Cooper; and nephew, Brandon Heavner.
Sherry's request for cremation was honored.
Friends will be received on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hinkle Fenner Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 7 p.m., from the funeral home, with Pastor Todd Rhodes officiating.
