Virginia Marie Arenz (nee Vawter) gained her heavenly wings on Feb. 5, 2024.
She was born Jan. 2, 1930, in Ellamore, West Virginia, the daughter of Denzel and June Pennington Vawter Harris.
Virginia was an RN who spent her career in various hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland.
It was in Baltimore where she met and married the love of her life Elwell "Butch" Arenz. They were together for 43 years until his death in 2004.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Bonomo Cockerham; five brothers, Dellis R Vawter, Ray B Vawter, George Harris, Basil Harris Jr. and Richard Harris; her mother; father; and stepfather, Basil Harris.
She is survived by three sisters, Sheila Harris Boucher in Canada and Donna Harris and Vonda Cahall of Virginia; her sister-in-law, Estelle Arenz, and devoted niece, Patricia Arenz, both in Pennsylvania, and niece Sonja Boucher in Canada; and many other nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a member of Golden Age club of Allumet Island, Quebec, Canada, and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Her request for cremation was honored by the Cremation and Burial Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
