Mr. Danny Lynn Anderson, 72, a resident of Elkins and formerly from Belington, departed this life late Wednesday evening, February 28, 2024, at his home. Death was following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 18, 1952, at Clarksburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Clyde and Edna Wavelene Holliday Anderson.
On Feb. 2, 1970, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Ann Marchman, his wife of 54 years, who survives at their home in Elkins.
Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Daniel Anderson and wife, Linda, of North Carolina, and Jefferson Anderson of Elkins; and a sister, Frances Bowman of Independence, West Virginia.
Grandchildren surviving are Derek Anderson, Nikkia Howell, Mason Anderson, Tucker Riffle, Katelyn Riffle and Lilly Riffle; and great-grandchildren, Taytum, Kaiden, Oaklynn, Kaiah, Atlys and Athena.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eugene and Mary Marchman; one son, Michael Paul Anderson; and brothers, Jimmy Anderson, Bob Anderson, Roy Anderson and Rex Anderson.
Danny attended the schools of Taylor County and was Protestant by faith. Before retirement he was a former coal miner and also worked for Asplund Tree Trimming Service. He loved to fish, hunt and camp and do anything outdoors.
He enjoyed Bluegrass music but most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Sunday March 3, 2024, from noon to 2 p.m. at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Howard Swick and Chaplain Steve Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
