Justin Pete "Petey" Short, 40, a resident of Beverly, passed from this life Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his home due to complications after being diagnosed with ALS in 2022.
Petey was born Thursday, May 12, 1983, in Elkins, a son of Don Brewer of Beverly and Bonnie Sharp; and stepfather, Kenny of Valley Head.
Also left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Madison, Temperance and Nellie; two sisters, Robin Short of Beverly and Tosha Moore of Valley Head; six nieces and nephews, Jamecia, John, Dahlia, Adzjah, Dakota and Austin; several aunts and uncles; and two very close friends, Aaron Cave and Billy Bishop.
Preceding him in death was one infant nephew, Jashiga.
Petey attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed doing what he loved, cutting timber. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, riding the back roads and mudding. Petey loved to tear apart cars and restore them. Also, he believed everything should be a turbo. Even if it wasn't broke, he'd fix it anyway.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, March 18, 2024, at 11 a,m. in Mingo Cemetery.
Pastor Dave Powell will officiate and interment will follow.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Justin Pete "Petey" Short.
