Larry Duane Smith, 80, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Larry was born Friday, Nov. 5, 1943, in Elkins, a son of the late Harvey Denver Smith and Dorothy Phyllis Currence Smith. On Nov. 26, 1966, in Philadelphia, he married Joyce Marie Warren Smith, who preceded him in death May 27, 2016.
Also left to cherish Larry's memory are four children, Jennifer Ratliff and husband, Jeff, Jeffrey Smith, John Smith, and Brian Smith, all of Mill Creek; 12 grandchildren, Kayla, Jeffrey, Gage, Dylan, Rebecca, Zane, Elliott, Sadie, Todd, Adam, Kaelah and Haley; and 10 great-grandchildren, Mason, Aiden, Brayden, Kai, Samira, Sammy, Mia, Landon, Patrick and Charles; three siblings, Glenna Haddix of Ohio, Denny Smith of North Carolina, and Connie Light and husband, Earl, of Mill Creek; personal chef and close friends, Gina Wright and Brooke Daniels; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Larry in death besides his wife and parents were two sons, Charles Michael Smith and David Ray Smith; one grandson, Christopher Smith; and two brothers, Randy Smith and Glen Smith.
Larry was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School and then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 14 plus years. Upon his return, Larry worked for Phoenix Resources.
Larry's request for cremation will be honored and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Larry Duane Smith.
