Mr. Paul David "PD" Corley, 74, a resident of Belington, the Dartmoor Community, departed this life Monday afternoon, March 11, 2024, in the emergency department at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins. He had been declining in health but death was unexpected.
He was born Feb. 19, 1950, at Dartmoor, West Virginia, a son of the late Henry Jackson Corley Jr. and Nina Virginia Igo Corley.
He was twice married, first to Janice Colvin Martin, who survives in Weston, and second to Kimberly J. Simon Corley, who survives in Belington.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, Kimberly Dawn Corley Walker and husband, Bryan, of Keyser, and Lacrisha Leslie Corley Lamb of Belington; two sisters, Pamela Corley and companion, Mike Lamb, of Belington, and Virginia Ann Corley Fincham of Orville, Ohio.
Grandchildren surviving are Jamon Paul Corley of Belington, Bailey Payton Walker and Brevin Lee Walker both of Keyser, Tyler Weatherholtz of Martinsburg, Luca Corley of Belington, Eli Flippo and Cyrus Flippo, both of Philippi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jackson W. Corley.
Paul attended the schools of Barbour County and was a graduate from Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1968. He was a veteran, serving with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Laurel Mountain Post 410, where he had been a past Post Commander. He worked as an ironworker for most of his life and was a member of the local Iron Workers Union # 568 of Cumberland, Maryland. He was a Nascar fan and enjoyed watching TV and was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be in the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per Paul's request for cremation will be honored.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
