Ray ‘Abe’ Mallow

Ray "Abe" Mallow, 74, a resident of Harman, passed from this life Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at White Sulphur Springs Center in Greenbrier County.

Ray was born Thursday, June 9, 1949, in Onego, a son of the late Omar Lee Mallow and Ocie Morral Mallow. He married the former Shirley Esther Dean, who survives at home. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish his memory are two children, Mandy Phillips and husband, Robert, of Valley Bend, and Jason Mallow and companion, Priscilla Taylor, of Dryfork; four grandchildren, Allyson Kyle and boyfriend, Dominic Barker, Connor Kyle, Walker Mallow and Dylan Phillips; siblings, Larry, Robert, and Dolan Mallow, Sharon Bonner, Donna Zahn and husband, Jack; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Amy Armentrout and Betsy Dean; five special friends, Elvin Kisamore, Jim Nelson, John Summerfield, Davie Bonner and Gary Nelson; and three fur babies, Mia, Bandit and Tiny.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were three siblings, Ruby Kisamore, Grace Corbitt and Ricky Mallow.

Ray attended the schools of Randolph County and then served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Groundbreakers. Abe enjoyed tinkering in his garage, mowing the yard, and making hay.

Most of all, he adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Ray's request for cremation will then be honored.
