Samuel ‘Sam’ Flame ‘Buckie’ Wamsley

Samuel "Sam" Flame "Buckie" Wamsley, 77, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Sam was born Tuesday, Dec. 10. 1946, in Elkins, a son of the late Jackson Waitman Wamsley and Mary Lowry Wamsley.

He married the former Patricia "Patty" Ellen Summerfield, who survives at home.

Also left to cherish his memory are three children, Michael Wamsley and wife, Stephanie, Samuel Jackson Wamsley and Renata Cook; several grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Wamsley and wife, Beverly, John Wamsley and wife, Tiffany, Vernon Wamsley and wife, Margie, Debbie Shaffer and husband, Kenny, Vicki DeBeer, Kitty Hardy, Mary Wamsley, Teina Wamsley, Robin Wamsley, Linda Cunningham and husband, Gerald, and Jackie.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son, Jeffrey White; and siblings, Ronald, James, Bill, Ike, Christy, Faith and Jeannie.

Sam was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School and then joined the United States Navy. He was employed at J.F. Allen for 30 years until his retirement. Sam was an active member of the Blue Rock Union Mission Church.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Monday, March 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. until noon, the funeral hour.

Rev. Scott Spotloe and Rev. Dave Bickel will co-officiate.

Interment will follow in the American Legion's Little Arlington Cemetery in Cravensdale.

The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Samuel Flame Wamsley.
