Mrs. Yvonnia Leah (Booth) Tallman, 88, a resident of Belington, departed this life Friday evening, March 22, 2024, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Death was following a short illness.
She was born June 12, 1935, a daughter of the late Shelby Winfield and Gertrude Anderson Booth.
On Dec. 18, 1958, at Wytheville, Virginia, she was united in marriage to Willard G. Tallman, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Rodney Tallman and wife, Delores, of Elkins, and Alan Tallman of Belington; one daughter, Tiannia Murray and husband, Blaine, of Biloxi, Mississippi; three sisters, Juanita Sandridge and husband, Pete, of Audra, Lucille McDermott of Buckhannon and Janette Anderson and husband, Larry, of Broadway, North Carolina; one brother, Kenneth Butch Booth and wife, Mary, of Buckhannon; four grandchildren, Tonya Cummings of Elkins, Ashley McCauley of Elkins, Amanda Murray of Nashville, Tennessee, and Blaine Murray Jr. of Louisiana; three special children she raised as her own, Lori Charnoplosky, John Charnoplosky and Bailey Sparks; great-grandchildren, Roger Dale Cummings, Savanna Cummings, Emerick McCauley, Malachi McCauley, Mattelyn Haney, Braxtyn Haney, Alayna McCauley, Tristan McCauley and Grayson McCauley; and great-great- grandchildren, Braylynn Akers and Piper Morris.
Also surviving is a special niece, Cynthia Evix.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Whitmire; and two brothers, Dale Booth and Jerry Booth.
Yvonnia attended the schools of Barbour County and worked as an in-home elderly caregiver for many years. She was a member of the Concord Community Church and the Order of the Eastern Star chapter 44 of Philippi. Yvonnia loved taking care of the elderly and she loved her church family very much. She, above all else, enjoyed taking care of others and being a help to her friends and family.
She will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington, on Friday March 29, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 8-11 a.m., the funeral hour, at which time final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Jamie Andrews officiating.
Per her request, cremation will follow the service. Interment of her cremains will be at a later date in the Concord Cemetery near Belington.
