Barbara Ann (Gainer) Whetsell passed away on Jan. 28, 2024, in Elkins, West Virginia.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1937, in Valley Bend, West Virginia.
Although she was a long-time resident of Elkins, West Virginia, she spent much of her youth in Montrose, West Virginia, where her family had a farm.
In keeping with her wishes, her family will be honoring her memory with a Celebration of Life on:
Saturday, May 11th
Noon until 3:00
Montrose Community Center
175 Oak St, Montrose, West Virginia
Lunch, refreshments and dessert
Casual attire, something with purple possibly
Join Barbara's family and friends, as they celebrate her life the way she would have wanted it to be, a joyful gathering, rather than a mournful occasion.
The event, held in Montrose, symbolizes her homecoming and a return to her roots. There will be time for family and friends to share their stories and memories of Barbara, as they listen to some of her favorite music, and have the opportunity to view a large display of the beautiful quilts she hand-crafted over the years.
Throughout Barbara's life, she has touched the lives of so many, and was loved by all who knew her.
