KIDWELL
"Cab 37, you there?" Unfortunately, not anymore.
David Kidwell passed on Feb. 13, 2024, from natural causes. Our dad was known as "the world's greatest dad, papa bear, and just dad -- the man, the myth, the legend."
David was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Parsons, West Virginia, the son of John and Dessie C. Judy Kidwell.
He is survived by two brothers, Keith O'Neal Kidwell and Chris M. Kidwell.
Sister Carol Kidwell and brother Dick Kidwell are deceased.
With his wild and wonderful West Virginia Roots, he survived the Vietnam War as a Sergeant E4, from the U.S. Air Force. He fought bravely for our country and was honorably discharged in 1971.
Following that, he later became enchanted by a young, beautiful lady named Lisa Schroeder. It was love at first sight.
Married on Dec. 21, they bought a farm. He awoke to a distressing morning to hear that his grandfather, Isom Judy, had placed his pet pig in the slaughter house. Upon the news, he broke in later that night and rescued his pig and many others to live.
His wild West Virginia spirit tied an angry long-horned bull by its horns and towed it up a hill to mate with a cow. His wonderful legacy was horseback riding up a mountain and his pet goose, "Goosey Lucy," would fly by his side on his adventures. After the farm, he became a restaurateur in the Shenandoah Valley, where he received the Key West Citizen after his divorce. He found his calling in a little piece of heaven called Stock Island. There he found a home, bought Al' Tree Trimming business.
Following that he pursued a career as a driver and tour guide. Finally, found his niche in life in the land of the 5 Sixes. He drove Cab No. 37, where you could always find him on pizza.
His surviving daughters are Tina DiBacco McWilliams, Rebecca Lindsay and Keslsie Kidwell and Samantha Estrelia-Molina Kidwell.
