JoAnne Pugh Lambert, 90, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life peacefully in her sleep Friday, April 5, 2024, at Good Samaritan in Belington.
JoAnne was born Wednesday, Feb. 21, 1934, in Smoot, a daughter of the late Rev. Charles Pugh and Myrtle Bright Pugh.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
On Dec. 24, 1949, she married Lester Lambert. They were united in marriage 54 years before his passing in 2005.
Left to cherish her memory are six children, Randall Lambert and wife, Kim, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ronald Lambert and wife, Anita, of Mill Creek, Robert Lambert and wife, Debra, of Huttonsville, Diana Ball and husband, Willard, of Mill Creek, Deborah White and husband, Jeff, of Junior, and Donna Showalter and husband, Tommy, of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
JoAnne had a large family and considered all of the spouses part of the family. There are 29 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several loving in-laws.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was one son, Richard Lambert; stepmother, Ida Mae Pugh; two infant grandsons; four siblings, Gart, Burnell and Melba Pugh and Ruth Knight; and four stepsisters, Irene, May, Maybyn and Mary Lee.
JoAnne attended the schools of Randolph County and was a dedicated homemaker. She loved her church family and her church organizations including the choir, Women's Church United, and the Church Circle. JoAnne enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Mill Creek United Methodist Church Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. until noon, the funeral hour.
Pastor Andrew Boley officated and interment followed in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
