Lenora Maude Swecker, 86, of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Lenora was born in Elkins, West Virginia, to Clyde and Luzetta Pingley on July 5, 1937.
She graduated from Tygarts Valley High School.
She married Carroll Swecker in 1958, and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage.
She worked as a Leasing Agent for General Electric / Genicom for 30 years.
She was a member and loyal volunteer of Stuart Draft Baptist church, working in the kitchen and preparing baskets to give to the community, and she was a proud member of the Stuarts Draft High School Sportsman's Club. She was an expert on birds, flowers and crossword puzzles, and was an avid sports fan. Lenora was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who dearly loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Lenora was preceded in death by a baby, Joni Swecker; and a sister, Doris Ann Strader.
Lenora is survived by her beloved husband, Carroll Swecker; sons, Craig Swecker and wife, Marybeth, of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Mark Swecker and wife, Mary, of Friendswood, Texas; daughter, Lisa Bray and husband, Abram, of Stephens City, Virginia; as well as her grandchildren, Jeremy Swecker, Jake Swecker, Laramie Swecker, Sienna Swecker, Evan Bray and Andrew Bray.
In addition, she is survived by a sister, Esther Winton with husband, Shannon, of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Charles Pingley and wife, Maxine, of Elkins, West Virginia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 10 a.m., from the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
Burial will be at the Old Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville, West Virginia, on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11 a.m.
