Mrs. Linda Louise Davis Carpenter, 64, a resident of Belington, West Virginia, departed this life Friday morning April 5, 2024, in the comforts of her home. Death was following an extended illness.
She was born May 28, 1959 at Buckhannon, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ida Maple McCauley Davis.
On Dec. 25, 1981, she was united in marriage to Lonzo Hoy Carpenter, who survives at their home in Belington.
Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Samantha Nicole Carpenter of Belington; one son, Lonzo Hoy Carpenter II and wife, Nicole, of Belington; grandchildren, Alyssa Owens and husband, Adam, Owen Dwayne Green, Annie Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Aaron Carpenter and Faith Walters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Davis and Charles Leo Davis; one sister, Eleanor Davis; an infant sister, Angeline; and a bonus son, Aaron Zastiwanik.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Linda attended the schools of Randolph County. She previously worked in home health care when her health allowed her to do so, working at Talbott Personal Care Home, the Good Samaritan and Nella's. She attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church for many years and loved her church family. Linda loved to take care of her grandchildren, watching the hummingbirds and crocheting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56. N. Brandenburg St. in Belington, on Monday April 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor David Shelton officiating.
Interment will then follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery near Hemlock, West Virginia.
