Mark Eugene Ferrell, 65, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Friday, March 29, 2024, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins following a courageous two year battle with cancer.
Mark was born Tuesday, May 20, 1958, in Summersville, a son of the late Frank Allen Ferrell and Dorcas Irene Reams Ferrell and the late Harold Walker and Janice Walker, who survives in New York.
On June 8, 1978, in Mill Creek, he married the former Charlotte Ann Daniels, who survives at home.
Also left to cherish his memory is his only child, Jessica George and husband, Matt, of Belington; two grandchildren, Brenna and Shelby George; five siblings, Helen Cosner, Curt, Shelly, Linda and Peggy; four nephews, Steven and fiance Samantha, Craig and wife, Emily, Sam, Ashton; one niece, Emily; three great-nephews, Eli, Clayton and Liam; two great-nieces, Molly and Blakeley; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Gene Vandevender; and brother-in-law, Calvin Daniels.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were two siblings, David Ferrell and Brenda Daniels; in-laws, Troy and Cora Mae Daniels; and brother-in-law, Clyde Daniels.
Mark attended school in New York and then obtained his GED in Randolph County. He had been employed as a mechanic and salesman at Motor City Cycles in Elkins, as a mechanic at Scott's Auto, Mill Creek Builders, and he was a millwright at Northwest Hardwoods until his early retirement due to health issues. He enjoyed going trucking with and visiting his uncle, Dan Ferrell. Mark enjoyed fishing, camping, and visiting with Davey Ware. Above all, Mark was a family man, always putting his family first. He looked forward to spending the weekends with his two granddaughters, Brenna and Shelby, whom he adored. Mark was a Methodist by faith.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. During that time the casket will remain closed. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Randy Long and Elder Dan Ferrell will officiate. Mark's request for cremation will then be honored.
