Merrill Harold ‘Roho’ Poling Jr.

POLING

Mr. Merrill Harold "Roho" Poling Jr., a former resident of the Watercamp Community near Belington, and more recently of Glenville Health and Rehabilitation Center departed this life early Friday morning April 5, 2024, at the Minnie Hamilton Health System at Grantsville, West Virginia. Although he was in declining health, death was unexpected.

He was born Oct. 1, 1950, at Philippi, West Virginia, a son of the late Merrill Harold Poling Sr. and the late Helen Marie (Wilson) Poling.

He is survived by two bonus children, Sam Carpenter of Rowelsburg, West Virginia, and Angel Mack of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother, Duane Poling and companion, Tammy Thompson, of Walkersville, West Virginia; two sisters, Rhonda Ware and husband, Delbert, of Belington, West Virginia, and Michelle Dixon of Belington, West Virginia.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen A. "Steve" Poling.

Harold was a graduate of the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1968. He enjoyed television shopping networks and watching the Hallmark Channel. In his earlier years he loved to play cards and cook.

He was lastly employed with Floyd King and Sons Construction Company. He was a protestant by faith and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg St in Belington, on Tuesday April 9, 2024, from 6-9 p.m. Cremation will then follow.

His cremains will be interred in the Shiloh Cemetery near Moatsville, West Virginia, at a later date.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Glenville Health and Rehabilitation Center in memory of Harold 111 Fairground Road, Glenville, WV 26351.

The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Merrill Harold Poling Jr.
