Steven Russel Rose

ROSE

Steven Russel Rose, 73, a resident of Beverly, West Virginia, departed this life Tuesday evening, April 23, 2024, at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, West Virginia.

He was born Tuesday, Aug. 22, 1950, at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late William D. and Alee Virginia Pritt Rose.

Surviving are two brothers, Roger W. Rose of Beaver, Ohio, and Mark A. Rose and wife, Wilma, of Beverly; one sister, JoEllen Rose of Beverly; one niece, Marty Tomlison of Beaver, Ohio; one nephew, Aaron Rose of Ripley; and eight great nieces and great nephews, Dalton, Shay, Laken, Brewer, Desi, Daylin, Davin and Drayden.

Preceding him in death is one sister-in-law, Becky Rose.

Steven was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1968. He followed in his Dad's footsteps as a Taxidermist.

He drove cross country for Morgan Drive Away of Elkhart, Indiana, and also as a Service Advisor for Scott's Auto Sales. In earlier years, Steven worked at the Garden Fresh Market, Valley Supply and Labcraft. He was Methodist by faith. Steven loved hunting and fishing, especially fly fishing and loved to tie flies. One of his greatest treasures was trout fishing. He was an avid reader who enjoyed reading how the Old West was won and trapping. He enjoyed taking pictures of West Virginia scenery and watching NASCAR and WVU sports.

A private graveside service was conducted at the Beverly Cemetery at Beverly, West Virginia, with the Rev. Andrew Boley officiating. Interment followed.
