Edith Cathern Myers Nine Goff

Edith Cathern Myers Nine Goff, 95, a resident of Beverly, West Virginia, but originally from Rowlesburg, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, under the care of Mountain Hospice.

She was born on Aug. 5, 1928 in Etam, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Arthur and Tacy Marie Myers.

Edith was first married to Charles Nine on March 19, 1946 in Rowlesburg, West Virginia. They were married for 26 years and he passed away on Dec. 21, 1982.

She married Ross Goff on Sept. 25, 1988. They were married for 19 years. He passed away on Oct. 26, 2007.

Edith and Charles had five children. Four daughters, Anna Henline and husband, Gary, from Rowlesburg, West Virginia, Donna Reckart and husband, Dale, of Elkins, West Virginia, Charolette Biser and husband, Cliff, from Beverly, West Virginia; and one son, Charles W. Nine from Rowlesburg, West Virginia; and one surviving sister, Shirley Muir, from Hopewell, Pennsylvania.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, LaDonna Rosencrance and husband, Mark, from Elkins, West Virginia, Scott Reckart and wife, JoAnna, from Elkins, West Virginia, Cathern Henline from Bluffton, South Carolina, and Christopher Biser and wife, Amanda, from Cresaptown, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Alex Rosencrance, Jazmine McVey, Josh Reckart, Shane McVey, Colin and Jordyn Reeves, Landon and Delaney Biser. Edith had a very special friend, Sandy Bolyard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Nine; brothers, Frank and Richard Myers; and five sisters, Mary Owens, Freda Morton, Virginia Wiles, Ruth Collins and Goldie Harper.

Edith loved spending time with her family, flowers, gardening, and her cat. She was always a shoulder to lean on and had ears that listened intently. She cared deeply about the people in her life and the world around her. She wished to do good in the world and she did it for 95 years.

A small service for the immediate family will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1002 So. Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250 in memory of Edith.
