With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Kathie Elaine Carr, 58, of Elkins, West Virginia, on April 19, 2024.
Kathie was born on Nov. 24, 1965, to Keith and Janet Carr in Parsons, West Virginia.
After graduating from Tucker County High School, she went on to study at Marietta College and West Virginia University.
Kathie had several talents. She put her artistic skills to work as partner in a tie die T-shirt business in Parsons, supplying bright beautiful shirts to local shops.
Her considerably culinary skills were sharpened in local restaurants, both in Elkins and Slatyfork.
As a voracious reader of books, she found employment at Borders while living in Albuquerque. In her final years she specialized in baking keto desserts for local bakeries.
She was a talented singer, an incredible cook, a faithful friend, a protective sister, a lover of animals, art and scenic places. She was that and much more.
Kathie was predeceased by grandparents, Luther and Violet Woods and Vincent and Ethel Carr.
She is survived by parents, Keith and Janet Carr; and brother, Roy Carr.
A service will be held at The Refuge Church on May 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
