Leon Harold Smith

SMITH

Leon Harold Smith, 60, a resident of the Leading Creek Community, passed from this life on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Leon was born Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1963, in Elkins, a son of the late Henry Floyd Smith and Patsy Virginia Hedrick Smith who survives. He was never married.

Also left to cherish Leon's memory are four brothers, Floyd Smith, Michael Smith, David Smith and wife, Wendy, and Christopher Smith and companion, Tonya Collins; one sister, Lori Smith and companion, David Coberly; one special aunt, Geneva Rezick; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces,great-nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Leon in death besides his father were his maternal grandparents, Walter and Catherine Hedrick; a maternal step grandmother, Pansy Hedrick; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Nola Lamb Smith; and a sister-in-law, Sherrie Smith.

Leon attended the schools of Randolph County. He had worked as a timber cutter, logger and fence builder until becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Leon's request for cremation will be honored.

The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Leon Harold Smith.
