Mrs. Lillian Pearl Lipscomb, 103, a resident of Belington, and more recently of the Tygart Valley Health and Rehabilitation Facility, departed this life early Tuesday morning April 30, 2024, in the care facility.
She was born Feb. 13, 1921, at Job, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Alonzo W. and Martha Alice White.
On April 27, 1940, at Monterey, Virginia, she was united in marriage to Jack Donald "Don" Lipscomb, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jack Lipscomb and wife, Karen, of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Randall Lipscomb and wife, Nancy, of Akron, Ohio; and two daughters-in-law, Martha Lipscomb of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Renee Dellquist of Platte City, Missouri.
Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, David Lipscomb and Jeffrey Lipscomb; four sisters, Cressie Bohan, Ruth Fansler, Beatrice Barrickman and Madeline Fluharty; and three brothers, Bruce White, Woodrow White and Foster White.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Lipscomb was a graduate of the Elkins High School with the class of 1940. She was a former employee of the Edwin Shaw Hospital at Lakemoore, Ohio, as a nurse's aide and lastly, she managed apartments with her husband, Don, in Olmstead Falls, Ohio, for the Remanco Company.
In 1981, her and her husband moved back to West Virginia. She became a faithful member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the choir and the United Methodist Women's Club.
Pearl was also very active in the community and served as a volunteer at the Heart and Hand Ministry in Belington and was very active in the Belington Kiwanis Club.
Pearl was a true lady who deeply loved her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
