Louanna "Lulu" Bava Carr, 63, a resident of Elkins and formerly of Hendricks went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was in her usual health and death was unexpected.
Louanna was born Thursday, Dec. 1, 1960, in Parsons, a daughter of the late Joseph H. Bava Sr. and Norma E. Bohon Bava.
On Dec. 16, 1988, she was married to Patrick A. Carr, who survives.
Also left to cherish Louanna's memory are three brothers, John D. Bava and wife, Louanna, and Pete M. Bava and wife, Kay, all of Hendricks, and David A. Bava of Parsons; two sisters, Connie S. Rosier and husband, Denver, of Elkins, and Diane L. Phillips and husband, Pete, of the Pheasant Run Community; and many special nieces and nephews.
Preceding Louanna in death besides her parents were two brothers, Joseph H. Bava Jr. and James B. Bava; and two sisters, Dorothy Oberding and Joann L. Jarosiewicz.
Louanna attended Tucker County High School and graduated with the first graduating class in 1979. While in high school, she played basketball and ran track. She would continue her basketball career for two years at Potomac State College and Fairmont State University.
After school, Louanna went to work at the Mt. Storm Power Station (Dominion) for 37 years, having retired in 2019.
Louanna was an avid sports fan and was a huge supporter of Tucker County sports.
Louanna, lovingly known as "Lulu" was the life of the party. She always had a smile on her face and loved to make people laugh. She loved her family dearly and was known as the family caretaker. She loved planning family get-togethers and taking pictures at those events. She was known for her kindness and generosity and will be missed by all who knew her.
Louanna was a member of the Parsons Church of God and had attended Rivers of Living Water Ministries in Elkins.
Visitation will be held at the Parsons Church of God on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Pastors Mike Boggs and Kevin Hostetler will officiate, and interment will follow in McNeely Cemetery in Hambleton.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made in Louanna's memory to the Tucker County Animal Shelter, 586 Brooklyn Heights Rd, Parsons, WV 26287, the Randolph County Humane Society, 195 Weese St, Elkins, WV 26241, or to Rivers of Living Water Ministries Building Fund, https://www.rlwme lkins.com/donate.
