Robert "Bob" Ramsey, 76, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life at WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Facility in Elkins on Sunday, May 26, 2024, to enter the Heaven in the presence of his Savior and other family members.
Bob was born on Tuesday, July 8, 1947, in Beverly, a son of the late Perry Lewis Ramsey and Ivy Marie Lamb Ramsey. On Dec. 23, 1970, in Beverly, he married the former Phoebe Ann Coberly, who survives.
Also left to cherish Bob's memory is one son, Charles Ramsey and wife, Cheryl; two step-sons, Michael Coberly and wife, Stephanie, and Sean Coberly and wife, Jamie, all of Elkins; one grandchild, Nina Mae Coberly of Buckhannon; one sister, Mildred Weese of Beverly; one half-brother, David Moats of Ohio; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Bob in death besides his parents was a twin sister, Roberta; three half-sisters; and several brothers-in-law.
Bob attended the schools of Randolph County and served from 1968 to 1970 in the United States Army including 13 months in Korea during Vietnam and later went on to serve in the Army National Guard for several years.
He had worked at Labcraft, Elkins Industries, and AHF, from which he retired. He enjoyed attending local ball games, watching NASCAR, hunting, and hanging out with his boys at the hunting cabin, where he made sure to be there early to build the fire and warm up the cabin. He attended Rivers of Living Water Ministries.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Mike Boggs will officiate, and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman where member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion, Tygarts Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the West Virginia Honor Guard will conduct full military services.
