Rodney ‘Rod’ Hoover
HOOVER
Rodney “Rod” Hoover, 62, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born Dec. 29, 1961, in Buckhannon, a son of Robert “Bob” Hoover of New Milton, West Virginia, and Charlotte Marsh Lewis of Buckhannon.
On May 10, 1986, he married the love of his life, Rebecca “Becky” Wentz, who survives.
In addition to his parents and wife he is survived by, two children, the joys of his life, Travis Hoover and wife, Sheena, of Buckhannon, and Becca Lee and husband, Brandon, of French Creek, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Mahala and Wesley Hoover, both of Buckhannon, and Ryley and Kyndal Lee, both of French Creek; second mother, Dolores Hinterer-Hoover of New Milton; one sister, Phyllis Hinterer of Jane Lew, West Virginia; two brothers, Phillip Hinterer and wife, Sally Ann, of New Milton, and Craig Hinterer and wife, Melissa, of Horner, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hoover was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church in Buckhannon. He graduated from Lewis County High School in 1980. Rod worked at Jenkins Ford as one of the best auto body technicians in West Virginia. His most recent endeavor was owner of Hoover Farm Equipment, where he met many new friends. Rod was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family, friends and his beloved Chocolate Lab Gunner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping — especially at Holly River.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m., from the church, with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
