Roger Allen Rhodes, 81, a resident of Glady, West Virginia, departed this life Saturday morning, May 4, 2024, at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center at Elkins, West Virginia.
He was born Saturday, Feb. 6, 1943, at Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, a son of the late McClellan C. and Della Luemma Baker Rhodes.
Surviving are one daughter, Amy Lambert and husband, Jon of Elkins; one sister, Della Mae Cork and husband, Danny, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; two grandchildren, Aiden Lambert and Cameron Lambert; sister-in-law, Retha Rhodes of Glady; and special friends, the Wood family and the Wilburn Family of Daniels, West Virginia.
Preceding him in death is two brothers, Robert Earl "Bob" Rhodes and Roy Rhodes.
He attended the schools of Randolph County, had worked as a Diesel Mechanic and Welder in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for Elkins Industrial Equipment Company and Mongold Lumber Company.
He was a member of the Glady Brethren Church, was an avid outdoorsman and was affectionately known to his close friends and family as "Gabby."
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center for their special care of Roger.
Mr. Rhodes' request for cremation was honored.
A Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
