Russell Ray Collins II

Russell Ray Collins II, 58, a resident of Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home.

He was born Saturday, June 12, 1965, at Elkins, West Virginia, a son of the late Kenneth Jack Collins and Thelma Jeannette McMurray Collins, who survives.

Also surviving are his children, Daniel Ryan Collins Violet of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Stephanie Elizabeth Fenchimore and husband, Collin, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; one sister, Linda Ellen Collins Garcia and husband, Ysidro, of El Paso, Texas; special friends, Carol Deavers Fretwell and husband, Sylvester, and Etta Jean Kendall; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and several cousins.

Preceding him in death was his uncle, William Harper "Bill" Collins, who he loved.

Being in a military family he attended many different schools and received his high school diploma in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.

Following high school, he started working for a painting company, which later he had the opportunity to own.

He was a hard worker and a perfectionist and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the First Church of Christ and belonged to the West Chester Volunteer Fire Dept., alongside his father for several years. He enjoyed watching baseball and watching the Philadelphia Eagles play.

He was a wonderful cook, loved animals, and his last dog was a standard size poodle, named Buddy Boy.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins, West Virginia, on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m.

Preaching Minister Jason Brandon will officiate, and interment will follow at Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road, Elkins, West Virginia.

The family suggest that expressions on sympathy be in the form of contributions to, First Church of Christ, 300 Main Street, Elkins, WV 26241.
